Hi, I'm Asta!

⋖ Proud daughter of my Senegalese Mom & Dad, born and raised in France, through work and studies, I had the opportunity experience life in different part of the world

The concept of Taramo (AKA Travel) is therefore at the center of  my personal story. It is an indelible mark and a perpetual dream that I fully enjoy living

‘TARAMO’ IS A DJARANKE WORD, MY BELOVED FATHER LANGUAGE. IT REFERS TO BOTH THE ACTIONS OF WALKING AND TRAVELING. IT IS COMMONLY USED TO DESIGNATE THE JOURNEY OF PEOPLE WHO TRAVEL OR SETTLE IN A NEW PLACE

In my culture, people often say that your Taramo may or may not lead you to wealth but it surely will gift you with more knowledge of self, others and life.
Traveling made me step out of my confort zone as well as experience some of the best memories of my life As someone who has a very fulfilling but demanding job, I can absolutely relate to this overwhelming feeling that there is never enough time to relax or go for an adventurous trip. During my first months living abroad, I decided to experience my new town like a long-term tourist and surprisingly, making time to explore my surroundings became easy, fun & spontaneous.
I want Spirit of Taramo to be a ressources for women & black women in particular to go out there and explore the world with ease and fun! Travel brought me joy, excitement and made me realized that I should never be too busy to take care of myself! For me, Exploring new areas and get those feel good travel experiences is the best form of self care
